School Breakfasts Project
About this Project
|
This project offers free breakfasts for at-risk children in Mwanza. We are currently serving cornmeal porridge twice per week to 50 students in Luchelele Secondary School, and we include a choice of peanuts or a banana on one of those days each week. We hope to expand the project to include more nutritious meals, more days per week, more students at Luchelele, and finally at more schools.
Children throughout Mwanza have to travel (often by foot) for over an hour in each direction to attend school, and many of these kids are eating only one meal per day, which is dinner. This means that they arrive at school already hungry and tired and are at a serious disadvantage in the classroom.

How You Can Help
This project belongs to the Kesho Fund's School Supplies Program. You can support the Kesho Fund's School Supplies Program by using this PayPal-protected "Donate" button:
How will my money be used? [click here]
All donations will support our School Supplies Program directly, minus the international transfer fees we incur in sending this money to Tanzania. We do not presently need to use any of our project donations for other overhead costs (e.g. web hosting), though this may change in the future. How much should I donate? [click here]
Our suggested donation for the School Supplies Program is $10-30 per month. Donating monthly helps us to make accurate plans for the future and maximize our impact. Every $1 in the School Breakfasts Project budget can purchase four healthy meals for students. This makes a difference in their studies and in their lives. Are there any other ways I can help?
