Fundraising with the Kesho Fund
Small fund raisers are a great way to support our work. These can:
Contact us at [email protected] if you or someone you know has an idea for a fundraiser. We'd love to work on it together!
- Generate donations for our projects;
- Build our network by helping more people learn about our work. Some of those new supporters may become donors, volunteers, or even fund raisers themselves. As the Kesho Fund looks to expand with new projects in new Mwanza neighborhoods, building our base is as important as collecting donations!

Past Fundraisers
Games in the Park Day in Denver, Colorado (October, 2019)
In October, 2019, we held our first ever "Games in the Park" fundraiser in Denver, Colorado. Some of our closest friends and supporters came together to hang out, talk about The Kesho Fund's work, and wonder why we hadn't hosted this event in July instead.
Well, that's a great idea! We will try this again when the warmth returns in 2020 and see if we can grow it into an annual get-together. As it was, the fundraiser was a ton of fun. People asked a lot of good questions about our work, had some great discussions about our past progress and our future plans, and together raised a total of $552, which is a great boost for out efforts. Because of it, we will now be in good shape to put the roof on the new Ibungilo Boys Bathroom in November.
Thanks to everyone who came out, and thanks also to those who were unavailable but sent their support anyways!

"We Should All be Feminists" Viewing Parties in various locations (March, 2019)
Our Girls Empowerment Clubs have long enjoyed the wonderful TED talk "We Should All be Feminists" by the incomparable Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie. In early 2019, we received permission from TED Media to create an illustrated version of this TED Talk's transcript to hand out at our clubs for students to take home.
To raise money for commissioning our artists, support communities in Denver, Colorado, Charlottesville, Virginia, Newburyport, Massachusetts, Hampton Falls, New Hampshire, and Mwanza, Tanzania came together to watch Adichie's speech, discuss how it connects with all of our lives and with the work of the Kesho Fund, and to put donations together to sponsor the book. Thanks to all who helped to make this wonderful new resource a reality!
